Like I want to do everything, and so I do nothing.

Sound familiar?

The creative freeze is real. Especially when we go a little too long without exercising our creative muscles.

The key here is that we are not loosing our creativity, but rather, we are getting the warning signals that we are straying away from it a little too much.

You see, there are so many ways energy wants to move through us. It is a force that, when not fully expressed, can lead to a developing need to release this creative energy in other (sometimes unhealthy) ways.

Think vices — saying yes to things that we wouldn’t otherwise — or making unhealthy decisions for our longterm wellbeing in favor of temporary release of this creative pressure.

Trust me, as someone who has gone through these lulls in creative output many times (whether it be because I am traveling, in the wrong company, or misaligned in my own creative energy) I recognize the symptoms of stifled creativity much easier these days, though I am no exception to it’s clutches every now and then.

Hence this article — I have been traveling for a few weeks now, haven’t had that “grounded” feeling enough to want to create. Yet, that jittery, agitated feeling of my creative energy wanting to be expressed keeps bubbling to the surface.

It is a frustrating feeling I know all to well.

The good news is, I have moved through these cycles many times and I have found one of the most important methods of getting back into a creative flow….

It is….

drumroll please

building a routine!

I know, shocker — but here’s the thing. Sometimes when we are on the go so much, our routines can be the first thing to go out the window.

Now that we know this, we can choose to not let that happen.

So here’s what we do:

Find 1-3 things that you enjoy doing to start your day that you could do from anywhere — This could be your morning tea or coffee, going for a walk or journaling)

Create a schedule for yourself — Nothing forceful, but just a relative time you’d like to start your day. Select one of the three activities as you anchor for this.

Stick to it! — Even when things get overwhelming and a little chaotic, continue to show up for yourself. Don’t compromise yourself for the sake of chaos.

It really is that simple. Building those small routines everyday is just what we need sometimes to anchor us back to our path. To our goals and the actionable steps to get us there.

So I invite you to try it out friends! Whether you are on the go or not, build a solid (simple) routine for yourself that will get you on the path of actioning towards your goals and expressing your creativity freely.

Sometimes it is the simplest of changes that can make all the difference.

❤︎

This Substack is reader-supported. Yes, you knew you had the skills to swim, you knew you would float back to the top, but the fear still met you at the pools edge.

The same goes for jumping into new timelines and new versions of ourselves. We know we have what it takes to succeed, to become who we desire to be and jump into the deep end of this new life.

But our old selves, the version who once struggled learning how to swim still remembers that fear.

Life is all about coming up against the old versions of who we once were, and deciding we are no longer them, but rather, a version that is evolved and expanded beyond our past selves. We have more knowledge, more skills, more awareness and understanding around who we are and what we are capable of.

Once it finally clicks, you realize that you not only know how to swim, but you can float, dive and even do flips! You can allow yourself to trust in these abilities, and as you trust yourself and your skills more and more, the fear will naturally disappear.

Taking the leap into the unknown is very much the same.

You are faced with a completely new challenge — maybe it’s moving to a new place, or letting go of old relationships, or finally starting that business. It may seem scary, maybe even a little daunting at first; but on the other side is freedom, expansion and fun!

So I invite you to keep moving forward. Don’t allow fear to keep you from experiencing something new. That we are existing within the dream made manifest.

Think back to your life a year ago. What were the things you were thinking about? Dreaming about? What did you wish for yourself?

Is there anything in your conscious reality that is a reflection of that? Even the most subtle things around you — maybe it’s even a new mindset you have developed.

It can be easy to overlook these shifts that have been taking place because we are so close to ourselves and our process of unfolding.

Similar to going to the gym — we may not see the immediate changes on a day-to-day basis, but if we look back to where we started on our journey, the changes become significantly clearer.

The same goes for our dreams and manifestations. Sometimes its the things as small as those new habits that lead us to making new connections that lead to new ideas and new opportunities — It is a snowball effect that gradually grows into significant changes within our physical reality.

When we are constantly on the go, and in the process of becoming, it can sometimes feel like things aren’t moving quickly. Like the manifestations we desire are taking a long time to manifest.

This can often lead to discouragement.

But I encourage you to take some time today to reflect on the things, big and small, that have actually manifested into your life. Notice the shifts you have made and the results you have experienced over that past year.

Take some time to feel into the gratitude of this. For the choices you have made that have led to these new changes. For the wins you have experienced along your journey.

Remember, you are a co-creator with the Universe. I would think of the things I wanted to manifest and project those manifestations out into the future, believing that “one day, I will have that dream life, live that experience, make that money”. What I didn’t expect, however, was that it never seemed to come to fruition. That dream life seemed to always be held at a distance, just out of reach. I would receive a few manifestations, but they would arrive at a trickle of a pace.

Until one night, I was looking at my life and decided I’d had enough. Enough of the endless cycles of wishing, hoping, projecting into the future. I deserve to have everything I want now, and so that is what I chose.

I went to sleep that night with a fire lit from within me. Knowing that this was a major breakthrough. The clarity I had been searching high and low for was right in my face.

The life you desire is already here. You just simply have to choose it, and decide you are worthy to have it NOW. Not some future version of you — when you’ve finally healed from that relationship or when you’ve finally achieved that arbitrary goal you placed in your path to subconsciously block yourselves from our own success.

Decide now that you are worthy. Decide now that it is your time to receive, and the Universe will respond instantly.

I think a lot of us underestimate just how fast and powerful the Universe can work, especially when we are in alignment to our desires.

So I encourage you to take a chance on yourself. Believe in yourself fully and watch how your entire life shifts to meet your greatest desires.

Subscribe now

Feeling Called to Expand?

Stepping Into Your Truth

Dear Ascending

It’s Time to Honor the Call

You see, many times, our spirit is called to take action in directions that call more from us. That call us into expansion. That bring us into better parts of who we are, who we truly know ourselves to be, and who we are becoming.

There are times we are called into this expansion without knowing what the outcome will bring. Without having physical proof or validation that everything is going to work out. Still, there is an inner knowing of the path that is right for us.

Trust the Process

There is a trust that is required in these moments, that these callings are not just those of the ego, but something much greater, something soul-led. As much as I’ve tried to talk and reason myself out of it, it always comes back to this — I have a voice, and it needs to be shared.

I have been sharing messages about my spiritual journey and path of awakening via my YouTube channel, but as I’ve been writing my morning pages, the calling has finally circled around once again to share my voice here.

So here it is.

Hello friends! I hope these messages find you well…

Morning Pages: Stretching into the unknown

I’ve been feeling these stretches coming through. Like I have been called to make my way into unknown waters. The more I have been stretching myself, the less powerful the fear becomes. Or I should say, the more it shrinks.

There are no rules to this, other than doing the things that you have been feeling called to do, but have felt too afraid to do it. This could be anything from sharing a post, starting that book, or booking that flight. There is so much we are called to create, yet we tend to place blocks in our path in the name of protection or self preservation. This not only blocks our blessings from us, but it also blocks others from receiving the blessings of our gifts.

So if you are seeing this post, now is a great time to start sharing your voice. Start doing the things that make you uncomfortable. It may feel a little tense and you may get a little clammy — trust me, its totally normal, but by the end, you will not only feel AMAZING about yourself, you will realize there was really nothing to fear in the first place. It was all in the mind.

The more often we stretch ourselves, the easier this process becomes. Think of this like literal flexibility. The more we stretch our physical bodies, we feel the tension less and less over time. We gain a wider range of motion and we are able to move in ways we couldn’t before. All this comes with intentional action and repetition, but well worth it in the end.

This Substack is reader-supported.
